Dayana

why would they hate her?
Been watching The Celebrity Apprentice for a while now. I first saw back to back episodes on CNBC way back and it was crazy seeing a group of ladies fight on the board room. It is more crazy that after one of them gets fired, they hugged it out like nothing happened: show business. Hahaha.
It is also good to see how far Dayana Mendoza will go before getting fired. She is hot, a Ms. Universe and of course people don’t like her, especially her female teammates. I guess it is always that way on women when competing with someone hotter than them. She lacks cool ideas though. She is just a pretty face but she makes the show interesting for us. She do play it well though.
Unfortunately she got fired last night. No more pretty face to watch, so probably two hours on Sunday nights need to be allocated to something else.

Facebook Status Quo

This cartoon applies greatly to facebook

I deactivated my facebook account again but I opened it a couple of days ago because I need to see some news that only facebook can give me. I deactivate it because of what it has become:
- Pictures of food
- Magnum
- pa-"like" requests and contests
- Simsimi
- Lean and Fab (not that much lately)
- Posts via twitter(with or without the "#")
- 9gag
- Pictures of quotes(hell no!! they are not pictures)
- Screencapture of temple run(even though the app is way past its - prime) or Draw Something when it was new
- Pictures of lost people they want to help
- Pictures of medical anomalies which oftentimes are grotesque
- App invites(even though it should be clear to them that I never respond to any requests)

Too much shit just to see what some of your friends are up to lately. I activated my account and do a lot of tweaking:
- Block a lot of people on the news feed
- Block people who gives out a lot of game invites (These people don't have lives)
- Block apps
- Block people who sent out to much event invites
- Prevent people from posting to my wall
- Prevent people from tagging me on pictures

I wish there's an opposite for this where the list is the allowed apps then block everything not on it

So I hope my facebook now is just for "stalking" and trolling purposes only. Lurking is of course less probable.

Stuffed Crust Pizza

We were going home yesterday afternoon when i heard this DJ on the radio being creeped out of the news of the hotdog stuffed crust pizza launched in the UK. She said that pizza and hotdog don't go together.
I went curious  if what she's pertaining to is a different kind of stuffed crust from we already know of. I saw that topic being used in this late nighr show and the photo of the pizza revealed. it is the same shit, nothing new. Apparently, that kind of thing does not arrived in the US yet when it has been years since the stuffed crust pizza has been around.
Anything goes in pizza, so the meme is a little crazy. It should be nothing, Pinoy spaghetti also has hotdog on it, we eat it with rice, we put in a waffle. Hotdog is not just found on a bun or on a stick on other parts of the world.

Mulholland Drive

movieposter source
I like watching movies that will make you reflect on what shit you just saw. Some times when I am not stressed out and I think my mind can take a little work out. I have seen this movie ten years ago and I still don’t get it. I look it up on Wikipedia and I don’t get answers neither on what the story is about.  It will be nerve racking to over analyze and to over analyze is inevitable. Go figure.

There’s this site songmeanings.net where people argue on the meaning of songs which of course is funny. Art is open to all interpretation and a song of course is art. So comparing that shit to this movie, there’s a lot of interpretation to this movie and the writer/director does not want to comment on what the movie is about. Adding to another mystery like who is the person that inspires Carly Simon’s "You’re so Vain" that only the songwriter can answer.

With that said, it is a really good movie, a must see. It is more than two hours long but for a reason. Watching this movie again is like asking someone to kick me in the nuts, did it and I hate it, I know it will hurt but still, I ask for it and I know what I will get at the end of it. It’s a good kick though; I recommend it to everybody just to experience what I am saying.

American Reunion

poster comparison with the original. image source

I read about this sequel last year and was very eager to see this movie. The original movie is basically a part of a "Batang 90’s" psyche. Now we all grown up and so are the characters. It feels good so good visiting characters from the past, just like how I dissed supposed to be awesome summer movies last year which unfortunately was shown the same week with Scream 4. I catch this movie the earliest chance I got.
The movie was very funny all throughout. I was never bored. I can easily connect the dots and the story is not slow to develop. It is cool how the characters are well developed and just how I expect them to be after the past instalments. The story line for each character made sense for whatever conflict they may be having with this reunion. Very well written and I can say this movie is not just all about Stifler this time like the last movie.
It is still a sex comedy and the funny stuff related to sex are of course more of that awkward situations with Jim, or his Dad. Really funny stuff for a guy humour, just what a fan of the series will definitely be looking for. The formula still works. At least for me.
The actors from the first movie are all present in this movie. I love seeing them all again. They are all just starting their career in the first movie and good to see most of them again, especially Mena Suvari. She was wow before and had a good run in a lot of great movies. She has aged, but still looks good. Tara Reid, that voice is very sexy.
To bring more nostalgia from the 90’s, there are of course the songs. I looked at the movie soundtrack at iTunes and the track list is not that good, because most of them are new songs and therefore not good enough. The good songs used in the movie are of 90’s classics especially the one used on the first movie: Bic Runga’s Sway. A really great song.
So yeah, I miss the 90’s like everyone else. This movie is a good feed to your 90’s nostalgia. I definitely recommend it to people my age as we can relate to what these characters are going through.
