Lent

This year, I was able to go to church every other Sunday of Lent, which was cool because I was able to listen to “Anima Christi” during communion. I truly love that church song. It also reminded me of another communion song I heard when we were attending Santiago de Compostela in Lake Forest. Its title is “Ang Katawan ni Kristo”. The title was Tagalog, which is also a line in the chorus, but the song is in English. I also liked that song which was also for lenten season. It made me feel homey while I was in California. The reason why I skipped mass these 40 days was because I was out on some trip or something.hehehe..
Anyways, when the holy week arrived, we don’t have a solid plan how to spend it. That’s unfortunate because two years in a row, we were able to make a road trip to Ilocos. This year we don’t. I will be at home like the old days.
When I was younger, the holy week is not that favorable because the TV is on break which means mon-wed there is an Eat Bulaga Lenten special (which this year they did not) and shutdown from thurs-sat. We didn’t like that because kids shows and cartoons are shown on Saturdays or Friday nights. There came a time when they held special shows on evenings during these TV Break but they are mostly of religious concepts. Kids wouldn’t enjoy that neither. For me, I liked watching the Ten Commandments or the 7th heaven marathon. Those were the days when CTV31 was still alive and shows in Studio23 were watchable.
Maundy Thursday, my younger sister told me she wants to go swimming. I suggested Daranak Falls because I think it would be awesome to go there again after almost 20years. The family said OK, since I will be the one to finance the thing. They will just have to come along,
We went to Daranak on Saturday. We planned to go there very early because the place is expected to be packed. The plan didn’t work out. We leave our house about 9:30 and we arrived in the falls very  disappointed. The place is very crowded. It is near noon and people are still arriving. There are no more huts available and to make us more miserable, the river and the falls is not that wonderful as it used to be. I also checked out Batlag falls a little uphill but I don’t think the family wouldn't liked it neither. We ate lunch then we were off. For tweny pesos, the place where we used to swim is not that remarkable right now. Too bad. I don’t think we will be back.
We returned to Antipolo to find a resort where we can at least swim a little just enough to say that we really went swimming. Bosay resort was full. As well as two others we checked. We ended up in Femar. Last time I was there was when I was still in college, summer after my third year. The place looks the same to me. I swam a little, sleep a little and shower a little then we went home. The trip was very tiring. I immediately went to sleep again when we arrived home.
Easter Sunday, I hit the mall with Chast and her two nephews for some arcade fun. Going to World of Fun (formerly Worlds of Fun, I dunno why the modification) makes me feel like I’m in high school again. Hahaha. After that I bought my sister ice cream cake for her birthday.
