This is a family trip. My sister bought us tickets last year when Air Philippines went on sale. For that, we have to secure passports for my niece and parents: We have to get DWSD travel clearance for Ema. We have to reserve a hotel room for three nights. My sister also bought plane ticket for my younger sister so that she can also visit Singapore. I also have to help finance the whole thing. I missed Taiwan and Japan and now I am going back to Singapore.
When the day June 24 came, there were two tropical typhoons (Egay and Falcon) just around the Philippines threatening to cancel flights but thank God, our flight pushed through. We were in the airport a little early despite of the traffic in C-5 due to the heavy rains. I paid a hefty amount of money for travel tax just to know from sister when we arrived in SG that I might have not paid the tax because the e-ticket already included tax. That made me really upset. Nobody ever wants to pay too much tax especially for the Philippine government.
It was raining in Manila but it was hot when we arrived in Singapore. We let Ema play a little in the little playplace inside Changi then took a cab to Holiday Inn. Our reservations include two nights thanks to my Priority Club points and another night reserved by my sister. We were lucky enough that the hotel changed our twin bed room to one with a king size bed with an additional small bed plus buffet breakfast for three. There were five of us so that leaves me, my father and my younger sister to enjoy the free breakfast. The hotel was cool. My sister even swam in the hotel pool in the 8th floor.
For our first day, we went to Marina Bay. That was it. Traveling around is very tiring because we have to carry a baby.

It sucked that we forgot to bring a stroller. My parents also didn’t want to walk from the Esplanade to the merlion on the other side of the river. Family trips are always difficult.hahahaha.
We returned to Orchard Road and did a little shopping which my parents did enjoy, I think.

We bought stuff for people they promised they would bring something from Singapore for. It was a long walk. We were tired that we didn’t bother go out that evening. My sister had to go back to the airport this time to get my youngest sister who will be arriving.

The next day, we went to Sentosa. Again, my sister’s itinerary was not followed. Carrying the baby is such a burden adding my mom who doesn’t really likes to walk around too much. My camera’s battery also unfortunately went empty. Still we managed to go to Siloso beach and Palawan Beach to take some photos. We were also supposed to ride the luge but my mom objected. That was our whole day at Sentosa.

In the evening, we returned to Marina Bay so that my youngest sister may see the Merlion. At least I took some decent photos that evening. Thanks to the borrowed tripod.
In our last day, we checked out the hotel then stayed in my sister’s flat. We did a little food shopping in the nearby FairPrice. It’s amazing how my mom was able to cram all that stuff in our luggage before the flight. We ate seafood soup for lunch then rest for the whole afternoon. My mom did cook for my sister just so they can eat real food for change.
We left her place at 5:30 then straight to the airport where Ema was lucky to meet another loud and active baby Macmac, also born September 2009. It was hard keeping up with them when we were waiting for our boarding call.
